Our Holiday Cheer program was a huge success in 2023 as we supported 49 families (121 children) with 1,785 gifts. We have many to thank for making this all possible.
Wadsworth YMCA and Great Oaks CrossFit both put up “giving trees” and encouraged members to choose a child to purchase gifts for. The response was incredible in both locations and the generosity was amazing to see. Thank you to those who participated at each location – we were in awe of the generosity you showed in your gift-giving. Special thank you to Carmen and Seth at Great Oaks CrossFit and Helen and Amy at Wadsworth YMCA for being fantastic community partners and coordinating this with success.
Medina County Toys for Tots supported us in allowing us to purchase several cart-fulls of gifts for the children. We filled up an entire box truck with toys! Thank you to Michael S. for being a wonderful partner on it.
Thank you to On the spot heating and cooling llc OH LIC# 47850 for letting us use its truck to transport the toys and for donating funds to cover a bundle of wrapping paper for each family. We appreciate your continued support!
Thank you to the Chenal, Davis, and DeMoss families for helping to shop for the families. Thank you to the Check, Chenal, Cherrison, Davisson, DeMoss, Garton, Gorog, Shott, Shultz, and Widmer families for helping us deliver gifts. With so many families selected this year, we were so appreciative of all of you in helping!
The beauty of the Holiday Cheer program is people coming together in the spirit of giving to help support our neighbors through difficult times. We simply couldn’t done any of this without these wonderful people. Thank you to each of you for being so kind and generous!

The best way to spread cheer, is singing loud for all the hear!
Garton Family Charity’s Holiday Cheer Program was created in 2020 in part in response to the impact the COVID-19 pandemic had on many families in our community. Families were nominated by friends or family or could self-nominate and received holiday gifts and gift cards to purchase a family meal for the holidays. Our team was so touched by “Holiday Cheer” that we decided to make it an annual program moving forward.
